Important: Gatekeepers Singapore President’s Message and Advisory Measures Due to Covid-2019.

Feb 14, 2020

 1) In Singapore and many parts of Asia, there is a palpable sense of fear and anxiety arising from the Covid-19 plight sweeping several nations. The panic ‘raid’ on supermarkets is symptomatic of this fear that is gripping many. Believers are not spared of this natural human response to be fearful of the pestilence that is sweeping across nations. God understands this and that is why His words, “fear not” proliferate the Bible.

 2) King Jehoshaphat like many of us was also afraid (2 Chronicles 20:3). But he fully trusted God and was not despondent. He looked to the Lord who promised him: “‘Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God’s.” (2 Chronicles 20:15).

 3) The Covid-19 casualties continue to mount and the sky may appear to be falling around us. But our God is completely trustworthy, loving and merciful. Let us unite our hearts in prayer and pray Psalms 91 over our nation and the nations that are besieged by this pestilence. Pray also for those who are suffering from the illness or have lost loved ones as well as protection for the many who are in frontline service to keep the daily conundrums of life going. In particular, pray for those serving in healthcare, risking their lives, in caring for the sick.

 4) Our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. Be vigilant in taking the necessary precautions regarding your own health. We are called to be Gatekeepers to advance His Kingdom, on earth as it is in heaven. In heaven, there is no sickness nor pestilence. Let us not be found wanting to do the will of our heavenly Father.

And finally, please join with us in a synchronised daily hour of prayer commencing today wherever you are between 10pm to 11pm till Saturday 7 March 2020 when we gather for the monthly Watch and Pray.

Advisory

 1) Regardless of your travel history, if you have fever or other symptoms (ie. cough, runny nose), do seek your physician immediately and take time to fully recuperate at home instead of attending your gate meetings.

 2) We will be implementing compulsory temperature taking and all guest and members will need to fill up a Contact Tracing Form when visiting the FGB Gatekeepers office.

While we must exercise wisdom and take all these necessary measures, let’s fix our eyes on Jesus. Let’s continue to proclaim His protection in Psalm 91 over our us and our loved ones.

Shalom in Christ
